Pets Locator

Shows your tamed wolves and cats on the vanilla locator bar (added in Minecraft 1.21.6), right alongside other players.

Features

• 🐺 Wolf and 🐱 Cat icons appear on the locator bar
• Icons are tinted with the collar color — change the collar, the icon changes
• 🐴 Horse icons appear on the locator bar, with a distinct icon per coat color (7 variants)
• Up/down arrows when your pet is significantly above or below you
• Works in singleplayer (renders its own bar when no players are nearby) and multiplayer
• Client-side only — no server-side installation required

How it works

Every 20 ticks, the mod scans for your tamed pets within 64 blocks. Their position is projected onto the locator bar using the same formula as vanilla player waypoints. The icon color matches the collar's dye color at runtime.

For wolves and cats, the icon color matches the collar's dye color at runtime.

For horses, since Minecraft does not track horse ownership natively, the mod registers your horse the moment you tame it and remembers it locally (stored per world / per server).

Compatibility

Requires Fabric API (Fabric only). Client-side only — safe to install without the server having it.
